A. W. Tozer

"The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst For the Divine" by A. W. Tozer
I find it interesting that this book was written on a train trip from Chicago to McAllen, Texas.
A. W. Tozer finished the rough draft just as his train was pulling into the train station.
This book has 10 chapters, 121 pages, I read a chapter a day. Each chapter, each paragraph has deep thought and insight for the reader to ponder. This book is considered a classic in Christian literature. During that train trip the Holy Spirit used A. W. Tozer as a tool to reach countless people that have read this book, in order to deepen the roots of their faith.

"Faith is not in itself a meritorious; the merit is in the One toward whom it is directed. Faith is a redirecting of our sight, a getting out of the focus of our own vision and getting God into Focus."

"The Word of God is quick and powerful. In the beginning He spoke to nothing, and it became something. Chaos heard it and it became order; darkness heard it and became light."

Wednesday's Challenge

Yes, I know it is Thursday and I am posting on my Wednesday's Challenge, but I know you will forgive me.

I read chapter 17 of Luke today.

What would we do without the Gospel of Luke, his Gospel brings the story of Jesus to technicolor. Luke is the only scholar and Gentile writer of the New Testament, he did careful investigation and research, interviewing eyewitnesses. This Gospel was probably written in about 62 A.D. His motive in writing the Gospel is that all people would know, both Jew and Gentile, that the Gospel is for everyone. Luke knew personal information about John the Baptist, the birth of Jesus, and other facts. His Gospel gives greater insight to Jesus' prayers 3:21, 5:26, 6:12, and parables on prayers 11:5-13 and 18:1-14. The Gospel also emphasizes evangelism Luke 19:10, and the universal message of salvation 2:14 and 32, 3: 4-6, 9: 51-56, 10:33, 17:16. There are 6 miracles and 19 parables that are only found in Luke. He also added the Magnificat 1:46-55, Benedictus 1:68-79, and Nunc Dimittis 2:19-32. The prologue to Luke's gospel, the first four verses is among the greatest Greek writing of the first Century. This first sentence in the Gospel of Luke shows his knowledge and aptitude in writing. Luke also gives more attention to women, women during this time were possessions, with no legal rights, no voice. Luke gave women notice; Elizabeth 1:5,24,25,57,58, Anna the prophetess 2:36-38, the widow of Nain 7: 11-17, the woman at the Pharisee's house 7:36-50, Mary Magdalene, Susanna, Joanna, the wife of Chuza, 8:2-3, Martha and Mary 10:38-42, the weeping daughters of Jerusalem 23:27-31.
Luke was a physician, a faithful friend and companion, and fellow worker of Paul, he was probably one of the earliest Gentile converts. See Colossians 4:14, Philemon 24, 2 Timothy 4:11. Luke also wrote the book of Acts.

Fragrance of Life

"But thanks be to God, who in Christ always, leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of Him everywhere. For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?" 2 Corinthians 2:14-16

A dear friend died late last night, he had been the worship leader at our church for over 30 years. He was a talented man, a sweet and loving person. He had led the music at my own mother's funeral nearly a year ago. A week ago he told a friend that "soon he would be singing in the Lord's choir." That is such a beautiful picture, such an exuberant feeling to know that we will see each other again, and that when we do we will be singing before the throne of God.
What do you think about when you think of heaven?
Do you think of harps, angels, singing?
I guess heaven is some what of a mystery since we do not know every detail of this place, but it is a place, Jesus told us in John 14: 2-3, "In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also." We understand that it is a place and that Jesus is preparing it for us, we also know that it has many rooms, and that He will come again to take us to this place. My favorite part of that verse is, "that where I am you may be also." Isn't that what heaven is, to be with Jesus? Yes, I want to see my mother again, to see my other family members, my friends, but I want to be with Jesus, just give me Jesus!
"And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." Revelations 21: 3-4. The greatest blessing of heaven will be that we will have perfect fellowship with Jesus.
All scripture is from the ESV

Question Of The Week #8

Question Of The Week #8, Operation Read Bible http://operationreadbible.blogspot.com
Do you participate in Lent? Do you give up anything for Lent? If so what? Why? What do you hope to gain from Lent this year? I don't know if 'gain' is the right word...what I'm asking is what are your goals this year, what are you hoping to accomplish or learn? Do you think Lent is important? or not so much?
"Lent is the 40 day long liturgical season of fasting and prayer, representing the 40 days that Jesus spent in the desert where He endured temptation." Wikipedia.
No, I do not practice Lent, nor have I ever, nor have I ever given it any thought other than knowing what it is.
It would be rather daft of me to leave this post as not really having said anything.

One of the questions above is: What are your goals this year, what are you hoping to accomplish or learn? I will elaborate on this question, but it will not have anything to do with Lent.
I am a goal oriented person, a list maker, a note taker. I hope that this year I will continue to evolve and advance in my blogs and reviews books, and in expressing myself through writing. I hope that I will be an inspiration and a blessing to my readers. I hope to accomplish all of the reading challenges that I have committed to. I hope to loose 22 more pounds (I've lost 7 pounds.) I hope to continue my walking and that I will continue to enjoy it. I hope that the Anne Graham Lotz revival that I am involved in that will be in September, will be a well spring of hope and answered prayer for central Texas, and that many will come to know Jesus as their Savior.
I hope to have a vacation, I have not had one in nearly 10 years, I would be happy for one quite night in a nice hotel and to be able to sleep late.

Eve

The Hebrew name for Eve is Havah, meaning birth giver. There are many in the Christian Church that believe the story of Adam and Havah, is just a story that has been told in order to explain the beginnings of the human race. The issue can be a touchy subject and become a heated discussion, labels can be given to people, liberal vs. conservative. I honestly do not believe that God needs us to argue our belief's about Adam and Eve, He needs us to tell people the Good News of Jesus Christ!
"Havah, The Story of Eve" by Tosca Lee
In the first chapter entitled "The Garden" the reader is swept away by the sensuousness of the paradise of Eden. Life in Eden is flawless, harmonious, tranquil, everything flows together and is in perfect unity. The relationship that Adam and Eve have is unyielding in their desire for one another, neither one is ever apart from the other for very long, speaking is not necessary they can discern each others thoughts. Yet, they are like innocent children, they are even awakened in the morning by the "One," their name for God . We know the story from the book of Genesis, that the serpent enticed Eve to eat of the tree that the "One" had told them not to eat of, and that Eve then gave the fruit to Adam to eat. We know that they were banished from the Garden of Eden, and that they were accursed. We know that they had 3 son's named Cain, Abel, and Seth, and that they had other sons and daughters. The rest of their life is not known. The author Tosca Lee embroiders their story, the life they may have lived having many generations of children. The relationship that Adam and Eve had with God changed, and the relationship with each other probably changed as well, I had never thought of this, before reading this book. Before when they were in the Garden of Eden life flowed in perfect unity; out of the garden and out of the perfect plan, Adam and Eve struggled with difficulties in communication, annoying habits, struggles in raising children, and providing for every ones needs.
I am impressed with the authors skill in creating for us a vision of what this first family was like.
I am eagerly anticipating her next novel.

A Dark and Swarthy Character

Last Wednesday I gave a brief introduction to a book that I have now completed. The name of the book is "Demon, A Memoir" by Tosca Lee. As I mentioned previously when I tell my friends the name of the book they give me a "raised eyebrow look," or they say they don't want to hear about it. I try to assure them that the book is Christian fiction, not a secular horror book, nor does the book glorify demonology. This book is a "thinking book," meaning it has solid teaching behind the initial story, of the consequences of sin, and man's indifference to God.
The swarthy character Lucien wants a Boston book editor Clay to write "his" story. Every meeting that these two characters have is provoking, unsettling, and portent (see definition below); but yet for Clay he becomes obsessed with the interviews, and when the next meeting will occur. Clay does not eat well, does not sleep well, his life is monopolized with this daunting story. There is never a cohesion relationship between the two, there is enmity. I was amazed by the author's word usage, many words I had to look up in my dictionary. The fluent flow of the descriptions of the creation was beautiful. I was humbled by the continuous use of describing humans as "clay people," or "people made of mud."
I am nearly finished with Tosca Lee 2ND novel "Havah, The Story of Eve."

Portent-An omen, a sign of something to come, esp. something of a momentous or calamitous nature.

"Wednesday's Challenge"

Every Wednesday I give an update on my daily Bible readings, I am participating in "Operation Read Bible." I have chosen this year to start my daily Bible readings by starting in the New Testament, I should be finished July1.
I have finished the Gospel's of Matthew and Mark, I am reading the Gospel of Luke now, finishing Luke chapter 9 today.
I am working on a introduction or synopsis of the Gospel of Luke, stay tuned for this.
In Luke 9:57-62,
"As they were going along the road, someone said to Him, 'I will follow you wherever you go.' And Jesus said to him, 'foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.' To another He said, 'Follow me.' But he said, 'Lord, let me first go and bury my father. And Jesus said to him, 'Leave the dead to bury their own dead. But as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God.' Yet another said 'I will follow you, Lord, but let me first say farewell to those at my home.' Jesus said to him, 'No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.'"
We are still such little children, always looking backwards, or easily distracted, and often fiddling with something. In order to be fit for the kingdom of God we need to keep our eye, our focus, our preoccupation on Jesus. He has work for us to do, our job is to follow Him. I have recently been replying to my friends and family that my boss is Jesus, He is my employer, and He is the best boss I've ever had or will ever have. My job is to follow Him, don't look back, don't look to see what "other people" are doing, follow Jesus.

Fragrance of Life

"Fragrance of Life" is a new weekly post that I will be writing on, it is going to be inspirational writing, and will be what the LORD prompts me to write. The title "Fragrance of Life" is taken from 2 Corinthians 2:14-16 ESV,

"But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of Him everywhere. For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?"

I've had one of those day's, where I've tripped over my own feet, cannot speak a sentence with out stammering, and yet worse, I've had people remind me and point out to me my inept and disgraceful self. I thought about my inability to walk today and I was reminded of a Bible verse in Proverbs.

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV

"Trusting in the LORD with all of our heart" is not a part-time "I'll give it my best shot." The word "trust" in Hebrew is batah, meaning to trust, rely on, put confidence in, to be confident of, to believe, to feel secure. We are to whole-hearted and fully trust in the LORD all of the time, not just when by all appearances things look like they are going to "work out." Depending on ourselves is not the answer, we are finite and fallible, it is God alone that we are to put all of our trust in, and acknowledge as LORD in our life, and "He will make our paths straight." Those straight paths are directed and guided by the all knowing God that has immeasurable love for us.

My real problem today was not a physical problem in preventing me from walking correctly or speaking with clarity, my real problem was in not relying on God for a worry in my life, and I was preoccupied with that worry. I choose preoccupation with Christ Jesus!

Question Of The Week #7

Question of the Week #7, From "Operation Read Bible"
Do you like listening to sermons? Have you ever subscribed to sermon pod casts? Have you ever listened to sermons on the radio? Do you have any favorites? What resources (if any) have you found on the web you'd like to share?
I am a visual person, when I am in church listening to a sermon I take notes, it helps me to better retain the information, and also to keep my attention focused on the sermon message. Listening only to a sermon is more difficult for me, I can for a brief time listen, then I get bored because I do not have visual stimulation. I do try when I am listening only to a sermon to take notes, but once again I am more attentive to visually see the sermon message being given. I have never subscribed to sermon pod casts, nor do I listen to them on the radio. I prefer to go to the websites of those Christian people that I like such as; Kay Arthur, Beth Moore, Charles Swindoll, Max Lucado, and visually read their message; often I will print the message out, because I want to hold in my hand the paper that holds the words in ink that I love to read.
This is a list of some of my favorite Christian resources on the web:

Aloha Reef Series: Midnight Sea

"Midnight Sea" is book 4 in the "Aloha Reef" series by Colleen Coble.
Lani a young woman lives on the big island of Hawaii, she lives with her aunt Rina that owns a coffee plantation. Many of the people that work at the plantation are old friends of Rina, friends that had once lived with her in a hippie commune. Lani is shot by an unknown perpetrator while at the coffee plantation, she becomes blind, the doctor believes it to be temporary. A man named Ben brings his trained guide dog Fisher, to work with Lani to give her security and independence. The book is part mystery, part love story, all in a beautiful exotic setting of Hawaii.
I am new to the author Colleen Coble, having just read another of her books, "Without a Trace." I still have another book to read, "Abomination." Her newest book "Cry in the Night" recently became available this month.
Her website is http://www.colleencoble.com/

I am presently reading the book "Demon, a Memoir" by Tosca Lee
This book is intoxicating, tense, swarthy in dialogue. The author takes Biblical scripture from Ezekiel and Isaiah, and embroiders a character named Lucien. Lucien takes a book editor named Clay on a deliciously descriptive account of the creation, Noah, Job, and the birth of Jesus Christ.
The idea to even write this book is edgy. When I tell people the name of the current book I'm reading, they give me a raised eyebrow look! I will post soon about this book.

Consider this an addition to the previous post on "At The Well."

I read recently, "that we should praise our husbands in front of others," I will add that we should praise them in front of our children. Our children need to hear us as wives say how proud we are of our husbands and their accomplishments, and they should hear us say to our husbands how thankful we are for them. Appreciation always goes a long way!

The Love of God

"There's a wideness in God's mercy,
Like the wideness of the sea;
There's a kindness in his justice,
Which is more than liberty.

For the love of God is broader
Than the measures of man's mind;
And the heart of the Eternal
Is most wonderfully kind."

F. W. Faber

At The Well

Amy posted the questions this week over at http://www.titus2atthewell.com

What is your definition of friendship? My definition of friendship is the mutual support, companionship, love, trust, commitment, and devotion of a two way relationship.

Did you follow the belief that we should not be friends with our children? Has that changed? Being friends with our children was not the primary focus when we were raising them, our son's are now 25 and 24. Our focus was on providing for their basic needs, and bringing them up in a safe, Christian, loving environment. Often we would have to make unpopular decisions, but those decisions were always in their best interest. When our son's became adults, that is when the relationship changed, no longer were we in "charge" of them, we could relax from declaring to them what decisions they should make, or what their boundaries were. They still ask our advice, and we still advice in as few words as possible, being as honest as possible. We are now able to have more of a friendship relationship.

In what ways can we befriend our husbands and children? We can befriend our husbands and children by lifting them up not only in prayer, but in words that stir them to stay the course, we should be approachable and their greatest advocate.

What can we do to teach those skills to someone else? We can teach those skills by mentoring those that the Lord brings into our life. We can also find the ministry that the Lord has been teaching and grooming us for by our life experiences. Our life struggles and experiences have not happened to us only for our own molding of character, but to be a witness and a mentor to others.

"A friend loves at all times," Proverbs 17:17a

"A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer that a brother." Proverbs 18:24

"My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one that this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything I learned from my Father I have made known to you." John 15:12-15

Wednesday's Challenge

Hau'oli La Hanau~~Hawaiin
la Breithe Shona dhuit~~Irish Gaelic
joyeux anniversaire~~French
Alles Gute zum Geburtstag~~German
Happy Birthday~~English
However I say it, it is Happy Birthday to me on February 12.
On February 12, 2008 my mother became very ill and nearly died that day, it did begin her slow death and she died March 2. The afternoon of February 12, 2008 I got a phone call from my Mother's nursing home charge nurse, that I needed to come as quickly as possible because it did not look good. I packed my clothes half hazard for the possibly extended visit, also bringing with me my still warm from the oven un-iced chocolate birthday cake. I never ate that birthday cake, and I love chocolate so much, but it would have tasted like cardboard to me. This year I have planned a party for this Saturday, we are cooking hamburgers on the grill, chips and dip, a birthday cake, a cheesecake. My youngest son's 24TH birthday is Monday the 16TH, and my oldest son's wife's birthday is Sunday the 15TH and she will be 27. I have invited several family members and friends, we are hoping for a great celebration!
Many years ago my mother told me a story from a season in her life, that when her first husband died suddenly and she was left a widow at age 30 with 3 small children, she said, "that when her husband died she expected the sun to not come up, she did not expect to see the moon nor the stars at night, she did not want to get out of bed." My Mother said, "life goes on, the sun still comes up, the sun still rises and then sets, people still go to work. Life goes on." I miss my mother terribly, my hearts aches for her, but life goes on for us, until we are called home too.
And I am eating chocolate birthday cake this year!
I finished reading the Gospel of Mark, I am now reading in the Gospel of Luke, finishing chapter 2 tonight.

Question Of The Week #6

Have you read any Christian classics? Which would you recommend and why? If you haven't read any, why not? Are they too intimidating? Not enough time? Are any on your TBR pile?
Yes, I have read several Christian classic books, to name a few: "Pilgrim's Progress" by John Bunyan, "Knowing God" by J I Packer, "The Greatest Thing in the World" by Henry Drummond, "Foxe's Book of Martyrs" by John Foxe, "Humility" and "With Christ in the School of Prayer" both by Andrew Murray, "The Practice of the Presence of God" by Brother Lawrence, and also other books written by Peter Marshall and Catherine Marshall, Oswald Chambers, C S Lewis,
D L Moody, A W Tozer, R A Torrey, E M Bounds, Charles Allen, and Billy Graham. Yes, I have other classic Christian books that are in my TBR pile.
I have been blessed by having many classic Christian books on the shelves in my dad's study. He started collecting these treasures in the early 1950's, they are all in mint condition. On my mom and dad's first date he gave her a book to read, "God's Psychiatry" by Charles Allen, my mother told dad later she stayed up all night reading that book. If you have not read that book I recommend it, available from Amazon.

Acts of Faith Series, The Centurion's Wife

I have been anxious to read a book that I'd read reviews of on other blogs. I bought this book last Thursday afternoon, I read the last sentence at 5:00 P. M. Friday, I just could not put the book down. The book made an impact on me and I am still thinking about the characters in the book.
"The Centurion's Wife" by Davis Bunn and Janette Oke
The year is 33 A. D. and in the Judaea Province lives a young servant girl named Leah. Leah is a servant in the household of the Roman Prefect of Judaea Pontius Pilate and his wife Procula. Procula suffers headaches and dreams that haunt her, her malady made worse since the "fanatical prophet" was crucified. Leah is sent on a mission by Procula to find the prophet's disciples, and find out what happened to the body. In a political move Leah is betrothed to a handsome centurion from Gaul. Leah does not wish to be a servant to any husband, she prefers her service under Procula. The man that Leah is betrothed to is Alban, both he and Leah throughout the book make a series of discoveries that lead them to the "Truth." The book brings the sights, smells, customs and traditions alive with vibrancy. When Leah is shopping in the market place, the reader is there as well, the sights and smells of the freshly caught fish, the dusty streets, the bartering for prices. The book gives a sobering reality check to how women were treated, they were property, without rights or a voice. The book gives a great and albeit a fictional account, but interesting, of the women that were the followers of Jesus; their tasks, personalities, dress and traditional customs.
I am looking forward to the next book in the "Acts of Faith" series.

Why Do You Blog?

Why do you blog?
Blogging requires a lot of creativity, determination, perseverance, study, forethought, and a motive.
What is your motive?
According to http://technorati.com there are 112.8 million active blogs, with 175 thousand new blogs created everyday. As my grandmother would say, "thar sure is a whole mess of people out thar that likes to chew the fat." This means there are a lot of people who feel the need to "chat."
My original motive was to store information about the books that I've read, this then morphed into expressing my reviews on books, posting my collection of quotes and poems, practicing my grammar and spelling (don't look to close.) As time went by I felt the desire to go further in expressing my feelings about my life thus far, sharing my struggles, my walk with the Lord. I have shared about my family. I have shared many pictures, some taken by me, some were taken by others. I have stumbled back into something that I enjoyed doing as a kid, telling stories and writing. When I was a youth I loved creative writing in English, I also loved answering essay questions in high school and college. My urge to write has been with me a long time, often I have felt as if there were words and stories that were circling up above my head, but how to catch them and put them on paper, or the computer screen. I may never be a published writer, but write I must, and will.

Rock Harbor Series, Without a Trace

"Without a Trace" by Colleen Coble is book 1 in a series of 4 books entitled "Rock Harbor."
Rock Harbor is the name of the imaginary town set near Lake Superior and in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Rock Harbor is surrounded on 3 sides by the Ottawa National Forest.
The author Colleen Coble has a great website that I just spent some enjoyable time reading, also I followed a link over to James Scott Bell's site. http://colleencoble.com/
"Without a Trace" sets the pace for the main character in the "Rock Harbor" books, Bree Nichol's. Bree and her dog Samson are a trained search and rescue team, they live in a lighthouse that she and her now missing husband and son lived in. Bree's best friend Naomi lives next door with her mother, and they own a Bed and Breakfast place. Naomi and her dog Charley also team up with Bree and Samson, to search and rescue those that are missing. There is mystery surrounding the disappearance and presumed deaths, of Bree's husband Rob and son Davey, their bodies and plane have not yet been found. The plot unfolds after 2 children are found and they tell the story of a "witch lady" and a little boy living in the forest.
This book was my first introduction to Colleen Coble, I've since started a 2ND book of hers, "Midnight Sea", and have a 3rd sitting in my TBR pile, "Abomination." I am anxious to read book 2 and 3 in the "Rock Harbor" series.

Wednesday's Challenge

It is Wednesday and time for an update on my "Operation Read Bible Challenge." I just finished reading chapter 11 of Mark. In Mark 11: 24 Jesus said, "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." NIV.
This verse has been misused, and or misunderstood by people that believe that if they have enough faith then a certain thing they pray for will automatically happen. What do we do with a statement like that. When we pray for something, are we not to believe that God will answer our prayers?
In August of 2003 my oldest son David was in combat in Iraq, he was in the middle of his first tour. In our hometown newspaper it had been announced that a young man, a native of a nearby town, also a soldier, a husband and father, was killed while serving in Iraq. I was thinking of this young man, while I was having my devotional and prayer time, and the Lord asked me "if something happened to David, would you still love me, would you still worship me?" I told the Lord, "I don't like that question, that is not very nice, it is not fair." For the next week I refused to think about that question, I ran from it, I continued to have my daily devotional time and prayer time, but I would not think about that question. That question though encamped over my head like a dark cloud following me everywhere. Finally I got quite and still before Him, and I said, "yes, Lord you know all things, I will still love you, and I will still worship you, even if something happens to David." This was a turning point in my relationship with the Lord, no longer did I dictate to Him my list of prayers, I prayed for His will, fully knowing what that could mean. Yes, I still prayed for David's safety, of course I did, but I also prayed for God's will to be done. It is a hard, hard, hard thing to pray for God's will knowing it could be the death of your son, your firstborn son. God knows about that better than I do. Faith is not a complete action unless you walk through the fiery trial, knowing full well that you are not alone, that Jesus is with you, every step of the way.
Further scriptures to read: Mark 14: 36, Romans 8: 28, 32, Phillipians 4: 13, 1 John 5: 14*

Question Of the Week #5

"Question Of The Week #5, From Operation Read Bible"
"What do you do in the in between times? Those times when you are in between Bibles, or in between books of the Bible, or in between Bible studies. Do you ever feel a bit lost, a bit unsure of where to go next? What to read, or study next? It's not that you don't want to read, you do, its just that you maybe a bit indecisive, or you maybe a bit overwhelmed with all the choices."
I can sum these questions up in one answer; I don't choose, I don't sum up anything, I am not in a quandary as to what to read, or study in the way of a Bible study, or book of the Bible to read, or in a daily devotional to read. As I wrote in the previous sentence I don't choose, God chooses. I let the Holy Spirit lead me to what He wants me to read, to study. I am His student.
I was in my 8TH year of Bible Study Fellowship when I moved back in with my dad to care for him, I was in prayer as to whether I should transfer back to the class that meets here in this town, or to whether I should join the new Beth Moore study on Esther, or maybe a Precept study. I was patient, I prayed about this decision, and waited, until I felt peace about the decision to be in the Beth Moore study on Esther. I now know what I did not know before, but God knew, that I would travel with some of the members of the Esther Bible study group to see the kick off for a revival this fall that would be given by Anne Graham Lotz, and then be led myself to be apart of the team for the revival. You are right there are many, many, many choices that can be made, but what is the choice that God wants us to make.
