Weekly Readings, June 16 Through June 30, 2013

Sorry I was not able to post last Sunday my weekly readings. This past week was Vacation Bible School at my church. I helped teach those children that have finished pre-kindergarten and kindergarten. We had an average of 7 children each day. All the children in Vacation Bible School are from our neighborhood which is a diverse multi-ethnic culture. Half of the neighborhood is African-American, the other half is made up of either Hispanic or Latino, Asian, and Caucasian. Most of the members of my church are older white people. It is a traditional church. It is not a church where most people my age would want to visit, much less become a member.
One day last spring I just happened to be driving by this church, I visited the next Sunday's church service. My family and I joined Easter Sunday.
The only way I know how to express how I feel about this church is I have a godly love for it. A passionate love. A radical love.
I'm choosing to look past the outward appearance of the church. God has a plan and I hope to be apart of it. Stay tuned.......

Over the past two weeks I achieved my goal of finishing the Old Testament in six months. All Scripture read from NKJV.
I read:

"Meekness does not show itself when you are wrong, but when you are right." Warren Wiersbe
"I have one desire now to live a life of reckless abandon for the Lord, putting all my energy and strength into it." Ed McCulley
*** I'm taking a blogging break through next week. My grandkids will be with me and I want to spend time with them. I just finished reading Stop Asking Jesus Into Your Heart How To Know For Sure You Are Saved by J. D. Greear and Smelling Stinkweed, Gardening Naked and other News by V.H. Moss. I'll be reviewing these when I return.
