This was a book given to me to join in on the Revive Our Hearts online study, but I also chose to review this book.
The focal theme of the book is to teach us to have a mind and heart committed to a life of thankfulness to God. To be thankful in all things and not just in some things. Our attitude at all times should be full of gratitude for and to Jesus.
The author shares many stories from the lives of people that had terrible and tragic circumstances, yet they were thankful for God's presence and love.
The world does not thank God for who He is and what He has blessed us with; but the world is quick to shut God out, and to complain and berate Him.
But we have the mind of Christ, and we should not only live differently from the world, but we should stand out and reflect to the world our gratitude to Jesus.
I loved this book and I read this book from cover to cover, leaving no page unturned.
It is a book of inspiring narrative that spoke to my heart.
The authors approach is teachable and yet did not sermonize.
The book is applicable with many questions in the chapters to allow the reader to dig deeper.
During my reading of the book there was a blog I visited and joined in on,
---it was devoted to readers comments and further deepening of teaching.
I feel this is a great book for a book discussion group, Bible study, or for individual study and reflection.
"Gratitude is a revealer of the heart, not just a reporter of details. And among the things it reveals about us most is our level of humility."
