Lily Winter is a recent widow. She recently sent her only child off to college. She works and lives in Houston, Texas. Lily's mother is a harsh bitter woman. After a decade Lily visits her mother and finds out shocking news, Lily has a twin sister. This sister is living in Australia. Lily puts aside her fear of flying on an airplane and travels to Australia to find her sister. After arriving she meets a handsome man hoping to help her on this quest. Lily's life has changed dramatically over the past couple of years. Instead of fearing the next day, or becoming bitter as her mother, she marches forward to embrace a life in "full bloom."

My Thoughts:
Lily is a nice person, much nicer than I anticipated because dealing with her mother and other events in her life could have made her cynical and angry. She is a person with godly character. Lily does not treat people as they treat her. It is a rare person that will not stumble and fall into a pity party when they are mistreated; instead she was a person of compassion and grace.
Lily's mother should have a placard around her neck that says, "keep-away." She makes dogs turn away with their tail between their legs. Yet, I could see that this woman had her own story to tell that led to a hateful spirit.
The two women are a sharp contrast of each other and this is a building point for a great story!
The mystery of the twin sister gave an edgy feel.
Traveling to Australia is an adventure for any gal from Texas who's never ventured far.
I loved the transformation of the characters.
I loved the closing of the story.
Winter In Full Bloom, is a book of hope and a reflection of Romans 8:28 "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose." ESV.

This is the second review I have read on this book. I am adding it to my wishlist! As you were describing Lily, my mind went to Jane Eyre... :)
